Establishment of a New Community at Chechapani, Assam
The Canonry of Mananthavady is pleased to announce the establishment of a new community at Chechapani, Assam. This significant development was made possible through the generous donation of 2 acres of land from the Archdiocese of Guwahati. The existing building on the donated land has been renovated to serve as a seminary. This newly renovated facility has been named 'Premontre House'. The official blessing and inauguration ceremony took place on May 18, 2024, presided over by Rev. Fr. Jose Murickan O.Praem, the Prelate of Canonry of Mananthavady.
Northeast India Vocations
This new community marks a strategic step in the Canonry's mission to cultivate vocations from the Northeast region of India. Eight new minor seminarians from this region have joined the community this year. The establishment of this community at Chechapani, Assam, is a promising development that will contribute to the growth and mission of the Canonry of Mananthavady.
